Volunteering

In 2019-2020 individual members of the Norwich Lions  Club volunteered in the following activities:

  • Conducted free vision screening for 540+ school children (Marion Cross, Newton and Sharon Elementary schools) and 40+ adults during King Arthur Baking’s Health Fair.
  • Collected hundreds of eyeglasses for cleaning and  redistribution.
  • Assisted individuals with buying eyeglasses and other critical needs.
  • Sponsored monthly dinners for 100+ people at the Listen Center.
  • Delivered Meals on Wheels to local shut-ins.
  • Donated 216 dried meals to the Bugbee Senior Center and to the Upper Valley Haven.
  • Co-sponsored with the Norwich Women’s Club and served food at a summer concert on the Norwich Green.
  • Donated food and  drink for the Family Day on the Green after Norwich Parade.
  • Assisted with Salvation Army Holiday Bell Ringing and fundraising.
  • Assisted Upper Valley  Land Trust Fun Run/Cookout.
  • Donated candy machines to the newly-formed  Lebanon Lions Club to help it raise funds.
  • Helped renovate the Cabot-based Vermont Lions Camp for handicapped children.
  • Assembled seating benches for the Norwich Public Library .
  • Sponsored Christmas Memory Tree  on the Green..
